Recently, our local photography group, Lancaster Photography Association, invited Bill Debley to come speak. One of the subjects he spoke about was refractography. It involves using your camera without its lens to capture the caustic light patterns from light refracted through glass objects. It sounded intriguing and reasonably simple. This month has been very slow as far as photo sessions go, so I thought I would give this a try. It was difficult to get things set up perfectly, but the results were wonderful! I am just getting the hang of this, but I thought I would share some of my favorites so far. I now have a pile of various glass and crystal objects in my family room that I have been experimenting with.
I have also been turning some of them into abstract kaleidoscope images, which I love as well. If any of these appeal to you, they would make some great abstract wall art! Let me know if you are interested! I can do them in various colors to match your decor. I ordered a 30x30 canvas of one of them just to see how amazing it looks. I can't wait for it to arrive!
